Don’t You Still Know what is Blogging?
Do you still ask what is blog?? If you have ever surfed net even for an hour, you will come across many personal sites and all these sites are called blogs. According to Wikipedi:
A blog (a contraction of the term weblog) is a type of website, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order. “Blog” can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.
In short, blog is a place where you express your feelings, present your work and share your ideas. Now a days blogging is very important to show your presence on this internet world. Blogs can be of many types.
Personal blogs are maintained by an individual. Personal bloggers usually take pride in their blog posts, even if their blog is never read by anyone but them. Blogs often become more than a way to just communicate; they become a way to reflect on life or works of art.
There are also corporate blogs. They are usually used for business purposes. They are sometimes used for communication within the organization. All educational blogs come under this category.
You can differentiate between blogs and websites by this simple word “personal”. Blogs are more related to a single person. Blogs are sometimes taken as identity, sometimes as status.
Blog platform is a software on which the blogs are built. There are many different blog platforms available, some are free and some are paid. These days the most famous blog platforms are:
- Wordpress
- Moveable Type
- Blogger
- Typepad
- Vox
- MySpace
Among these, the most popular blogging platform is Wordpress and I am also using this one and moreover it is free. Just look at this graph and see how much wordpress is popular.
